I will by flying DOMESTICALLY in the United States from my home town to the town where I go to college. I am under 21, and would like to put alcohol in my CHECKED luggage.
(1) Is there any way for the airline to know my age?
(2) Will they confiscate the alcohol?
(3) Should I leave it in the original container (packaged for travel accordingly)? Or should I transfer it to a water bottle?

Don’t transfer it to a water bottle. The airlines don’t give a crap if you are underage or not for starters. After that do you really think they have the time to check and see if everyone who is carrying alcohol in their checked luggage is of age?
Two years ago my brother brought home an extra suitcase full of liquor from Italy when he was 20. You should be fine.
that’s right! mail it
Since checked luggage is in the belly of the airplane and out of your access…yes, likely you could.
You actually have to provide Identification for the ticket, and they *generally* ask for your age as well (and failure to answer can result in denial of service).
Depending on several items, the booze may or may not be present upon your arrival at college…first, depending on the scanner, they could flag it as a possible liquid explosive, or simply as an anomoly, and the bag removed. Second, a “Hand Search” of your bag could result in the booze being found and removed. This is commonly called theft, and if proven, would result in the termination of the employee and criminal charges. In the past 20 years of paying attention to News, I’ve only ever heard of one group of successful prosecution, and that was because there was sufficient complaints lodged – including one where the owner of a camera witnessed the theif carrying it down the luggage ramp from inside the airplane just prior to take-off. He was sitting over the hatch where the luggage was loaded, and looking out when he walked out.
Leave it in the original container…and sealed. Failure to do so could, in theory, result in an “Open Alcohol” charge. The same is true of carrying a six-pack with one can missing!
There are other reasons too…the alcohol fumes – they’re flammable.
In any case, check with the USPS to see if it is legal to ship alcohol through the mail, and do it that way! Just remember to avoid being caught with it in your possession, or you’ll never be able to check “no” in the box that askas about whether you have a criminal record (which can prevent you from gaining employement in any number of fields).
i would say transfer it to a water bottle… i don’t think they can say anything about it… you are allowed to take liquid in the checked bags and that’s it
they’re not gonna open your bag and smell the water bottle…. just do it
They will know your age when they look at your picture ID. Yes it is illegal to carry it on.
I would not worry about it. There are bigger problems out there than someone carrying a little bit of booze in their CHECKED luggage on a plane.
When you check your bag it is screened for things that appear to be dangerous, such as explosive materials, weapons etc. Unless it looks like something that should be flagged (which an alcoholic container does not) then it will be boarded on the plane.
Here’s the worst that could happen: For some reason your bag is suspicious. They will open it and examine the contents. When they find nothing interesting it will be closed up and placed on the aircraft. If the suitcase is very suspicious they will call you and have you present when it is inspected. In this case they may confiscate the alcolhol, but it wouldn’t be a big deal.
Bottom line: just put it in your bag!
of course not it is illegal you can get in big trouble
We won’t even go into the fact that it’s ILLEGAL for you to posses alcohol under ANY circumstances!!!!!
Very interesting articles about Samui Villa. Thanks very much admin ! I`ll definitely visit again your blog. Keep up the good work !
Thanks for such an informative article – great website
omg a number of the responses the majority create are such stoner comments, now and then i question whether they actually go through the content material pieces and reports prior to posting or if maybe they essentially gloss over the titles and submit first thing comes to mind. in any case, it’s satisfying to go through smart commentary occasionally compared to the identical, outdated post vomit which i commonly notice on the web
First of all – I hope it does cause MLB some major angst. Their role in all of this is significant. Selig should be forced to step down. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knew what was going on. And rather than confront it Selig and his merry band of synchophants decided to ignore it. Ignore it as Bonds heads swelled to gargantuan proportions. Clemons is a major league tool and frankly deserves what he’s about to get……
