I’m going to Italy in May and started looking for hotels online… I’m thinking of getting a small apartment for the week as it’s just me and my boyfriend. Anyone know of good websites where I can find some *affordable* rooms? I’m looking under 1,000 USD for the week… thanks in advance!

I used it many times. But hurry, should be difficult to find rooms in good and cheap hotels just a month in advance, in popular Cities like Rome (personal experience)

Finding a apartment for 1G a week migh be a little difficult, for somewhere decent. But keep some things in perspective. Italian life is very different from what Americans are used to. As an American I thought it would be more affordable to rent an apartment as well, but it really doesn’t matter unless you need to have a home. I stayed at the Hotel Mariano (about 70 Euro per night) that was clean, safe and recently remodeled.
Remember that all the hotels provide breakfast as well as many snacks or anything else you need. It was a basic room overlooking a piazza, but they had all I needed in the hotel or within a close walk.
