Good question, there is a guide by a ex-cast member that tells you how to do everything at Disney. I personally used it and saved over a grand on my last trip. http://vacationsavingtips.com/disney-wor…

A lot of the times you can get discount theme park disney tickets at your employer or through a friend that works at a large company. Also, you sometimes can get discount theme park tickets at costco or Albertsons in Orange County for Disneyland – so check that out.
Sometimes it is cheaper to book your airfare and hotel separate.
For flight, you can try to book a discount ticket using sites such as bing travel (farecast) or kayak. For hotel, you can try a bidding strategy with priceline.com
Here are some detailed steps that may help depending on whether you are going to Disney World or Disneyland:

    For Disney World:http://www.how2dothings.com/how-to-find-…http://www.how2dothings.com/how-to-find-…
    Hope this helps.

You can do it yourself but I suggest you use a travel agent. They will know the best and direct you.
